Migration of the Vinicone family

Although the ocean trips took many lives, those who did get to North America were instrumental in building the necessary groundwork for what would become for new powerful nations. Some of the first immigrants to cross the Atlantic and come to North America bore the name Vinicone, or a variant listed above: William Vinicomb settled in St. John's Newfoundland in 1753; Mrs. Jean Vinicombe rented a meadow near Maggoty Cove, Newfoundland, in 1796; Richard Vinecum was in Maggoty Cove, Newfoundland, in 1813.
