Paulino (or Paolo) Scolari, (1130-1191) was the birth name of Pope Clement III who reigned from 19 December 1187 to his death. Filippo Buondelmonti degli Scolari (1369-1426), known as Pippo Spano, was born the son of a destitute Florentine nobleman. He is first mentioned in Hungary around 1382 and rose to become an Italian magnate, general, strategist and confidant of King Sigismund of Hungary.
