The distinguished family name Remillaud has made significant contributions to the culture, arts, sciences and religion of France and New France. Amongst the settlers in North America with this distinguished name Remillaud were François Roumihat, who married Anne Gaboury in L'Islet, in New France in 1681; and who died in St-Michel-De-La-Durantaye in 1700.
