Migration of the Imenez familySome of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada, conquistador of New Granada (Colombia) and founder of the city of Bogotá. He was also the author of a history of the conquest, and searched in vain the swamps of the Orinoco for the legendary El Dorado. Other members of the family who were early emigrants to Spain's colonies in the New World included Francisco, who emigrated to Chile in 1560.
