Eggleshaw is a Dalriadan-Scottish name, no doubt originally for a person who lived in the old Barony of Eaglesham in the county of Renfrew (now part of the Strathclyde region), Scotland. Barthelmeu de Egglesham, chapeleyn, was warden of the New Place of Seneware (Sanquhar) in the county of Dunfres in 1296.
