Early Notables of the Dorvilliers family

Notable amongst the family was Allan Dorval, a ballet master in Lonent. His wife Marie Dorval (1798-1849), née Delauney, became a famous actress around 1800 and was well known in the Paris area for her talents. Madame Louise Dorval published many popular novels which had great success. P. Dorval, known under the name of Dorval-Valentino, finished his musical studies at the Paris Conservatory under the direction of Ponchard and Dorgoni and became a professor of voice at Versailles. Francois-Laurent-Marie Dorvault, born in 1815 in St-Etienne-de-Montluc, went to Paris in 1836...
