Dololount is an ancient Anglo-Saxon name that is derived from the name Dalman. Another alternative version is that the surname Dololount originally derived from the Old English word Doelan which referred to set out in position land or lots. Later a doleman would be responsible for distribution of land or alms as part of the lord and tenant agreement that occurred during the feudal ages.
