The name Bryket was derived from the Brythonic and Old English words for 'hill' (Brythonic: breg, Anglo Saxon hyll). The prefix 'Bow' comes from an Anglo Saxon personal name, Bolla. In Buckinghamshire, there are still three villages named Brickhill: Bow Brickhill, a village and civil parish in the Borough of Milton Keynes; Great Brickhill, a village and civil parish in Aylesbury Vale district; and Little Brickhill, a village and civil parish in the Borough of Milton Keynes. The latter was referred to as Brichelle in the Domesday Book.

Early Origins of the Bryket family

The surname Bryket was first found in Buckinghamshire since the time of the Domesday Book. While many of the records lead to this county, there is a record of Brickhill as a civil parish and electoral ward within northern Bedford, in Bedfordshire.
