In Scottish history, few names go farther back than Arrall, whose ancestors lived among the clans of the Pictish tribe. The ancestors of the Arrall family lived in the lands of Errol (Arroll) in Perthshire.

Early Origins of the Arrall family

The surname Arrall was first found in Perthshire (Gaelic: Siorrachd Pheairt) former county in the present day Council Area of Perth and Kinross, located in central Scotland, where they held a family seat in the parish of Errol from whence they get their name. The family is not directly related to the Lords of Errol, who are in fact a part of the Scottish Hay clan.
