The Shakelbolt is a device for hobbling horses. It is an emblem of victory. The Shakelbolt may well be borne by one who has taken his enemy prisoner, or for one who by his prowess can fetch off with strength, or by his charity redeem any of his fellow soldiers in captivity. It is generally used in armory with the latter significance.
