The Scimitar is a sword with a short, curved one edged blade. Its use in heraldry could be regarded as a token or trophy awarded during the Crusades. The Scimitar is said to be the emblem of military honor. It should incite the bearer to a just and generous pursuit of honor and virtue. It is symbolic of liberty and strength.
