Symbolism > leg

leg

The human leg is an emblem of strength, stability and expedition. The bearer of this symbol is ready to march into battle at a moment's notice. The symbol of the Isle of Man is three legs conjoined. It is borne in the arms of the Gunn clan and in the arms of MacLeod, because the MacLeod chiefs claim descent from Leod, nephew of Magnus, the last of the Norse Kings of the Isle of Man.. The Gunns, also of Norse origin, claim descent from Guinn, second son of Olave the Black, King of Mand and the Isles.
