Symbolism > fleam
fleamThe fleam was the barber-surgeon's knife used for bleeding people to let the poison out of their systems, so that they could maybe recover from whatever ailed them. It is an appropriate bearing for a physician or surgeon and it is also closely connected with the occupation of a farrier, who would have bled horses to cure their illnesses as well. A fleam may also be referred to as a fleme, flegme, or a lancet.Copyright © 2000 - 2012 Swyrich Corporation, all rights reserved Tools
