cross maltese

The cross maltese is drawn like four isosceles triangles joined at the tips with their bases indented in the shape of arrowheads so that the cross has eight points. This cross was the badge of the knights of Malta and some other religious orders, and the points are fancied to represent the eight beatitudes.
