Symbolism > cross crosslet
cross crossletWhen two or more long crosses are borne in the same coat they are sometimes termed crosslets, and if there are four or more they must be called crosslets. The cross crosslet, also sometimes called a cross crossed, is slightly different though. It is drawn as four crosslets joined at their bases, and is said to signify "the fourfold mystery of the cross." A cross crosslet fitched is also a common symbol where the bottom arm of the cross is replaced by an elongated point. And a field composed of an indefinite number of small cross crosslets is termed crusilly.Copyright © 2000 - 2012 Swyrich Corporation, all rights reserved Tools
