Research into the Origins of individual families in North America revealed records of the immigration of a number of people bearing the name Cliburn or a variant listed above: William Claybourne, who settled in Virginia in 1626; as did Edward Clayborne in 1636; Joshua Clibborn, who immigrated to Philadelphia in 1796; Eliza F. Clibborn, who sailed to New York in 1821.
