A thorough examination of passenger and immigration lists has disclosed evidence of many early immigrants of the name Caines: Christopher Cain or Cayne who settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1639; and died in 1653; he had two sons, Jonathon and Nathaniel; Charles Cain settled in Virginia in 1654.
