Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Jean Hardy, who married Marie Pairé in Pte-aux-Trembles in 1669; Michel Hardy, who married Marie-Judith Monet in Laprairie in 1722; Jean-Baptiste-Louis Hardy, who married Marie-Madeleine Bertrand in Cap-Santé in 1736.
