| Origin Displayed: Polish Spelling variations of this family name include: Zajac, Sajaczek, Zayac, Zajack, Zajaksky, Zajakski, Sajeck, Zejac, Zejazek, Sajak, Sayjack, Sajack and many more. First found in Polesie, the largest province of Poland. It is inhabited by Ruthenians, called Polesians, of Ukrainian descent. Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Johann Zajac, who came to Galveston, Texas in 1854; Ludwig Zajac, who was naturalized in Texas in 1865; Frank Zajicek, who arrived in Chicago in 1866.
