Some of the first immigrants to cross the Atlantic and come to North America carried the name Dannar, or a variant listed above: Mr. Daniel who settled in Virginia in 1606; fourteen years before the "Mayflower"; another member of the family settled in Virginia in 1622; Adam, Bernart, Henry, Jacob, John Godfrey, Owen, Peter, Phineas, Richard, Thomas, and William Daniel, all landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania between 1738 and 1851.
