The origins of the Buckstone name come from when the Anglo-Saxon tribes ruled over Britain. The name Buckstone was originally derived from a family having lived in the region of Buxton parishes in the diocese of Southwell and Norwich. It may also be derived from the town in Derbyshire where in Old English it was known as Buchestanes, meaning bowing stones.
