The surname Milhon was first found in Mid Norfolk at Mileham, a village mid way between East Dereham and Fakenham. The village dates back to the Dopmesday Book where it was listed as Meleham and literally meant "homestead or village with a mill," having derived from the Old English words myln + ham. 1 Mileham Castle near the site of the Roman Camp is one of the largest motte and bailey castles in Norfolk. The castle was constructed in about 1100 and the ruins can still be seen today.
