First found in Renfrewshire, where they held a family seat at Woodall between Langbank and the Port of Glasgow from ancient times. In earlier times they had been located at Kethek in Coupar Angus, and in 1473 William Jack was tenant of the mill in that village. A few years later, Gilbert Jak was listed as a resident of Vddynston in 1498.
