Where did the English Haynes family come from? What is the English Haynes family crest and coat of arms? When did the Haynes family first arrive in the United States? Where did the various branches of the family go? What is the Haynes family history?
The Anglo-Saxon name Haynes comes from the baptismal name for Haine. As the naming tradition grew in Europe baptismal names began to be introduced in many countries. Baptismal names were sometimes given in honor of Christian saints and other biblical figures. There are very few Christian countries in Europe that did not adopt surnames from these religious figures.

The spelling variations under which the name Haynes has appeared include Haines, Hains, Hain, Haine, Haynes, Hainson and others.First found in Lincolnshire where they held a family seat from very ancient times, some say well before the Norman Conquest and the arrival of Duke William at Hastings in 1066 A.D.

A great portion of these settlers never survived the journey and even a greater number arrived sick, starving, and without a penny.
