Research into the origins of individual families in North America revealed records of the immigration of a number of people bearing the name Dettman or a variant listed above: Charles Detmar, who arrived in Philadelphia in 1868; Carl Dettmer, age 37, who settled in Marlborough, Massachusetts in 1777; Conradina Dettmer, age 20, who settled in Texas in 1845.
