Two of the more notable descendants of the family were: Louis, Duke of Bourgogne, 1682-1712, who was the grandson of Louis XIV and father of Louis XV and whose instructor was François Fénélou de Salignac, philosopher and Man of Letters; and François Bourgoing, 1585-1662, who was a French theologian and one of the founders of the Order of the Oratory.
